We're going to give you the chance to design an Xmortis Flier for July!
We're doing a Comic Book/Superhero themed Xmortis on Friday, July 11th 2008 and thought it was the perfect oppurtunity for you to get involved. Over the years we've had numerous offers and requests to design an Xmortis flier and NOW IS YOUR CHANCE!
We will select 3-7 artworks to be used for the event and those will be used in our promotional material for the night, both printed and web-based! All entries will be posted on our website as well as in our MySpace albums.
Winners will be selected by a panel of judges in addition to ourselves (Eloni & Patrick).
Prizes are still pending but would include you +1 guest on the list for the evening and having your flier printed and distributed throughout the city as well as posted to the Xmortis websites.
The flier design needs to look like a Comic Book!
Here is what the Flier NEEDS TO SAY CLEARLY!:

The FORMAT should to be PSD, EPS or AI and the text should be editable. The file also needs to be PC compatible. It is strongly recommended that you create the artwork on its own layer so that the text can be laid over it, edited or adjusted if necessary. The DPI needs to be set to 300dpi and the SIZE at 3.85 x 5.1" The flier should feature or reference the Xmortis Skull Logo somewhere in the layout or in the artwork. File must be Black & White!
A Very BASIC TEMPLATE can be found HERE:

Additional file formats available upon request. Remember, these are just the basics! The final product should look like a Comic Book Cover!
If you want to embellish the wording as well, GREAT, just run your changes by us first!
Here are some resources that will be useful to you:
Mile High Comics - a great resource for comic book cover art going back to the beginning! They scan EVERYTHING!
Blambot Comic Fonts & Lettering - I just found this site. It has tons of free comic book ready fonts!
Other than these guidelines, you can do what you want and have fun with it! Just make sure we can post it online without getting our account deleted!
Submissions should be sent to us at xmortismail@gmail.com
The DEADLINE IS MONDAY, JUNE 9th!
*here is the fine print: As is customary with these sort of contests, entries become property of xmortis.com, though we certainly do not intend to restrict you from using them in your portfolios!
